Sylvester Turner will lie in state at Texas House of Representatives’ Hall

HOUSTON – As the city continues to mourn the sudden loss of Sylvester Turner, representatives have voted unanimously the congressman and former Houston mayor will lie in honor in the Texas House of Representatives.

All 148 members of the state House of Representatives voted for the measure Thursday morning. Turner served in the House for nearly 30 years before running for mayor.

The resolution says he will lie in honor on Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14. Before that, Turner will lie in state at the City Hall rotunda on Tuesday, March 11.
