HOUSTON, Texas – On Tuesday, the city of Houston learned that one its leaders, former mayor and U.S. Rep. Sylvester Turner, passed away at the age of 70.

The news sent shockwaves to many of his friends and colleagues who shared their last words and experiences with Turner, the leader who held the fourth-largest city through seven declared natural disasters, including Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic.
