Now, the winds are picking up on the backside of the same storm system which brought us thunderstorms in the morning.

Wind Advisory

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Winds will be sustained from the southwest between 15-25 mph. Gusts could reach 40 mph or higher.

This is the kind of wind that could knock down loose branches and blow debris around on the road.

Tuesday night will still be breezy, but the winds should start to come down a bit as we head later into the evening.

Red Flag Warning

The wind combined with dropping humidity levels will lead to a high fire danger for areas west of I-45.

Because of this, a Red Flag Warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Areas to the west near San Antonio are already seeing issues with rapidly spreading grass fires. Please do not burn anything in these conditions and be extra mindful with what you do with open flames and be sure to properly discard cigarette butts in a place that would not possibly lead to a fire.
