Three men who are believed to be affiliated with the violent Tren de Aragua gang were arrested in Houston this morning.
The arrests were carried out by Houston FBI and Homeland Security officials, in collaboration with investigators from the Nashville FBI branch.
This is the latest in a series of operations by authorities across Texas to identify and capture members of the violent Venezuelan gang.
The gang, which started in prisons within Venezuela, has been linked to criminal activity in the United States and across North and South America.
Officials have also investigated connections to Tren de Aragua from seemingly unrelated crimes, such as the assault and murder of Houston 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, which was allegedly carried out by two men in the U.S. illegally from Venezuela.
