HOUSTON – Police have released the identity of the suspect in a fatal shooting in Houston’s East End yesterday.
Marcus Jack, 48, has been charged with murder, assault and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

The shooting took place on Feb. 3 at around 3 p.m. near a METRO bus stop in the 100 block of South Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
Homicide detectives with Houston Police Department said Jack was in an argument with a woman at the scene who he was dating. The disagreement escalated, and Jack assaulted the woman.
After witnessing the attack, a man intervened and slapped Jack. As the man was walking away, Jack pulled a pistol from his waistband and shot the man multiple times.
The victim was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The suspect fled the scene, but he was quickly apprehended by HPD officers and arrested in the 6900 block of Harrisburg Boulevard.
Police have not released the identity of the victim, but they said he was in his mid-40s.
