HOUSTON – Harris County Sheriff’s Office captured the man who escaped custody at the Harris County Joint Processing Center last week.

On Tuesday, Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced that Travis Earl Bryant II, 47, had been captured earlier this morning, one week after his escape.

Officials believe Bryant escaped through the releasing area at around 12:55 p.m. on Jan. 28.

He was wearing a dark grey colored mechanics jumper.

Bryant had a hold on him from Jefferson County and had been arrested in Harris County on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was in the process of being transferred to Jefferson County at the time of his escape.
Authorities have not yet released the details of the additional charges Bryant is now likely facing.
