HOUSTON – Authorities are looking into what led up to a shooting Tuesday morning in west Harris County.

Details as to what happened are still being looked into, as the incident is still active, so it’s unclear how everything unfolded. From what we know so far, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies were called to a roadway shooting on Highway 99 and Cumberland Ridge Drive.

During the time of this report, Transtar also announced a total of four vehicles were involved in the crash on Hwy 99′s northbound main lanes just before Mason Road.

When first asked, Sheriff Gonzalez could not say if the incidents were related, but our Cathy Hernandez confirmed the two were not related.
It’s still unclear how the shooting happened but described the victim as a 40-year-old man, who was last reported to be in serious, but stable condition. Investigators are also talking to witnesses and checking for surveillance videos in the area to find out what happened.
