Man running across street in west Houston hit by car, left for dead

HOUSTON – Authorities are looking for a driver accused of hitting a man in west Houston late Sunday night and leaving him for dead.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. when the Houston Police Department said they found a man dead on Westheimer Road off Fondren. Police said the unidentified man was reported running northbound on Westheimer to try and beat traffic when he was hit by a black SUV going westbound.

The driver kept going though, and authorities said the man was left behind and died from his injuries.
