Missing 15-month-old boy at center of AMBER Alert found safe

The missing 15-month-old child who was the subject of an AMBER Alert on Saturday has been found safely, the boy’s aunt confirmed.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed that the child had been located and would be reunited with his mother.

OUR FIRST REPORT: Uncle charged with kidnapping in connection with missing 15-month-old; father held without bond until child is found

The boy’s uncle, 25-year-old Jason Irwin Vasquez, was believed to have taken the child without his guardians’ permission and was wanted on a charge of kidnapping.

It’s unclear if Vasquez was with the boy when he was found. However, HCSO confirmed that Vasquez has not been captured and is still wanted.

The boy’s father, Joel Vasquez, was also charged with a felony count of interference with child custody. He appeared in court Monday morning and was told he would not be given bond until the child was found.
