Suspected drunken driver involved in crash that killed 7-year-old girl in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A suspected drunken driver involved in a crash that killed a 7-year-old girl in northwest Harris County has been arrested, according to the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office.

The deadly crash happened on Sunday in the 10900 block of the Bammel North Houston Road.

The at-fault driver, identified as Joel Gonzalez Chacin, displayed multiple signs of intoxication, according to authorities.

The crash injured the driver of the other vehicle and led to the death of a child passenger, which court documents identified as a 7-year-old girl. The girl reportedly died after being transported to a hospital.

Chacin was arrested and taken to the Harris County Jail. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter and has a bond of $150,000.
