Man charged with murder after shooting his mother in north Houston parking lot

A man has been charged with murder after his mother was shot and killed in a parking lot in north Houston earlier this week.
The shooting happened on Oct. 19 in the parking lot of a hotel at 222 Airtex Blvd.
Kimberly Alexander, 45, was taken to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle, where she was later pronounced dead.
On Friday, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced that Alexander’s son, 19-year-old Dillan Alexander, had turned himself into police custody after being charged with murder in connection to the shooting.
Sheriff Gonzalez also said that Alexander was charged with tampering with evidence.
The motive behind the shooting is not clear at this time.
