Crews inspecting Houston bridge after incident with over-height truck

Three lanes have been closed on I-10 East eastbound at Lockwood after an incident involving a truck carrying an over-height load and a bridge.

The situation was announced by TxDOT on X.

The circumstances surrounding the situation are unclear, but the debris on the street and the minor damage to the exterior of the bridge indicate that a truck with a tall load may have collided with the overpass as it drove through.

TxDOT has not yet announced if the damage to the bridge is severe, but crews are currently inspecting it at the scene. It is unclear when the three mainlanes will be reopened.
