Police investigating skeletal remains found in backyard of S Houston home

Authorities are investigating a shocking situation in a south Houston backyard Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 4:30 p.m., the Houston Police Department responded to a report that skeletal remains were found in a home’s backyard in the 8500 block of Lee Otis St. near the Brookhaven neighborhood.

An autopsy is being performed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, and the investigation is pending results. The identity and cause of death of the victim are not available at this time.
