Kidnapping suspect arrested after gunfire exchange with Bryan Police

BRYAN – A reported kidnapping in progress early Saturday morning in Bryan led to a gunfire exchange between a suspect and a police officer.
At approximately 1:35 a.m., officers responded to a reported kidnapping in progress in the 600 block of S. Ennis.
Upon arrival, they encountered the suspect and the victim. During the confrontation, gunfire was exchanged between an officer and the suspect.
The suspect fled the scene but was later located and arrested. He sustained minor injuries from a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The officer involved in the shooting also sustained minor injuries, which were treated at the scene.
