Man captured in Houston days after being added to Texas’ Most Wanted List

A Harris County fugitive who was recently added to Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Immigrants List has been captured, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced.
Jose Miguel Zelayna-Ponce after his arrest (Texas DPS) Jose Miguel Zelaya-Ponce, a 20-year-old from Honduras, had been wanted by authorities since July of 2024 for aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14.
He was captured in Houston by special agents along with Texas Rangers and highway patrol troopers on Friday, Aug. 23.
Back in April of 2021, Zelaya-Ponce was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and released with an order of recognizance.
