Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo posts about bringing cat to DNC, appears to poke fun at Republican VP nominee JD Vance

HOUSTON – Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo is off to the Democratic National Convention and she isn’t going alone.

Hidalgo posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she brought her cat with her.

The photo shows Hidalgo with her cat on an airplane as they headed off to Chicago.

“Lady + cat + fiancé are off to the DNC Convention!!” the post read.

The post appears to poke fun at comments made by Republican Vice-Presidential nominee JD Vance.

The comments made by Vance in 2021 when he launched his political career in a bid for the U.S. Senate in Ohio have come back into the spotlight now that he is Donald Trump’s running mate.

“We’re effectively run in this country—via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs—by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too,” Vance said in the 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News.

Hidalgo is on the program schedule to deliver remarks Monday night on the first night of the DNC.
