Authorities searching for man who escaped police custody in Freeport

FREEPORT, Texas – Authorities in Freeport are searching for a man they say escaped police custody Sunday night.
The Freeport Police Department is currently looking for Oscar Garcia. They say he escaped police custody near the Red Top restaurant on Highway 288.
He was last seen handcuffed wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.
Although Freeport Police say Garcia is not considered to be dangerous at this time, they ask if you see him to not approach him and instead call 911.
The department said additional law enforcement is working to find and apprehend Garcia.
It is currently unknown what Garcia was wanted for.
