In a new episode of ‘Mic’d Up with McIlvoy’, KPRC 2 sports director Randy McIlvoy sits down with University of Houston Head Football Coach Willie Fritz as he prepares for his first season coaching the Cougars.
McIlvoy and Fritz discuss the team’s offseason, their expectations for 2024 and even NIL at UH.
Fritz heads to Houston coming off of a successful tenure at Tulane. After averaging under six wins per season over his first six years, Tulane became a force in 2022. Fritz led the Green Wave to double-digit win seasons in 2022 and 2023, and the team won its first major bowl game since 1935 in 2022, taking down USC 46-45 in the Cotton Bowl.
Now, Fritz is looking to give the Cougars a similar jolt as they compete in the new-look Big 12 Conference.
