Mother and son in critical condition after shooting at NE Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON – A mother and son are reportedly in critical, but stable condition after a shooting at a northeast Houston apartment complex.

It happened in the 5300 block of S. Lake Houston Pkwy around 3:19 p.m.

The Houston Police Department says they were called out when multiple residents called reporting gunshots in the parking lot of the complex.

Officers arrived and found multiple cars had been hit by bullets.

Initially, they did not find any gunshot victims, however, they later learned two people, a mother and son, had driven themselves to a separate location in the county after being shot. Harris County deputies responded to their location and transported them to a hospital.

Right now, HPD says there is no information on any suspects. They are currently looking for surveillance video and any information about the shooting.
