EAGLE LAKE, Texas – Investigators are looking into a frightening situation overnight Tuesday when SWAT members with the Harris Co. Sheriff’s Office were hospitalized during a training exercise in Eagle Lake.
Details are limited as it’s an active situation, but according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez via X, formerly known as Twitter, there were a total of five people in the helicopter. Four of the individuals were SWAT members and the other was the pilot.

The incident occurred at a training site located at 1021 Old Altair Rd. The remainder of the course has been cancelled and all participants have been sent home. @TxDPS and FAA were notified and an investigation is underway.
