Hurricane and Tropical Storm Warnings issued ahead of Beryl’s expected landfall

A Hurricane Warning and Tropical Storm Warning have now been issued ahead of Beryl making landfall early Monday morning.

Right now, Beryl is a tropical storm with winds of 60 mph, but is expected to intensify as it gets closer to the Texas coast. Next Category update is at 10 AM.

Cat 2: 91-110

Cat 3: 111-129

Hurricane Warning: has been issued between Baffin Bay and Sargent TX and for Jackson and Matagorda counties. Sustained winds of 75-85 mph are expected within 36 hours or less.

Tropical Storm Warning: has been issued from Sargent to High Island, TX and for Harris, Austin, Waller, Fort Bend, Colorado, Wharton, Brazoria, and Galveston. Sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph are expected within 36 hours are less.

Warnings and watches are in effect through Monday.

Prepare for heavy rainfall,a flash flood risk, tropical storm to hurricane force winds and power outages by stocking up on necessities for the storm - flashlights, non-perishable food, medicine, first aid kit, pet food and water are a few things that you’ll need.
