HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The teenage son of a woman who was found dead inside an East Harris County apartment over the weekend has been arrested and charged with murder.
Latoya Fisher was found dead at the Lafayette Village apartment complex on Sunday.
Family members had gone to the apartment after becoming concerned after not being able to reach Fisher for several days. They broke a window to get inside and found her dead.
Arrest update: today, Investigators filed murder charges against the victim’s 16-yr-old son. He was located and taken into custody by our Violent Crimes Apprehension Team. He was placed in the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile defendant is 1/2 https://t.co/KsdsW10caK
EMS and law enforcement were contacted and it was determined her death was a homicide. At the time, law enforcement said she had some sort of traumatic injury, but were unsure of exactly how she died.
On Tuesday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced Fisher’s 16-year-old son was taken into custody and charged with murder in connection to her death. He is believed to be the only suspect in the case.
The teenager was taken to the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.
