18-wheeler hydroplanes into pillars on I-10 East causing major crash, oil spill

HOUSTON – Officials are responding to the scene of a major crash after an 18-wheeler hydroplaned into pillars on I-10 East.

CURRENT TRAFFIC CONDITIONS HERE

Major crash southbound @ 11500 Eastex Fwy. It appears an 18-wheeler hydroplaned, driving into the pillars and onto the @METROHouston HOV lanes, blocking traffic. No reported injuries. A heavy-duty wrecker is en route and so is a Hazmat crew to assist with diesel spill.

As of 11:15 a.m. Thursday, crews were still at the scene, assisting with cleanup. A heavy-duty wrecker is en route as well as a Hazmat crew to assist with the diesel spill.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
