$10K reward offered for information on hit-and-run driver who left 9-year-old girl injured near The Galleria

HOUSTON – The search is underway for a hit-and-run driver who left a 9-year-old girl injured Friday evening near the Galleria area, according to the Houston Police Department.

The crash was reported around 6 p.m. in the 4600 block of W. Alabama Street and Kettering Drive.

Witnesses said the child and her friend were getting out of a vehicle when she was struck by a black Mercedes SUV. A video released to the public shows the Mercedes leaving the scene after the incident without stopping.

The girl was reportedly taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The family said the girl had an emergency surgery Friday night.

A $10,000 reward is being offered from family and friends for information on the driver. Anyone with information on the driver involved is asked to call HPD’s hit-and-run unit at 713-247-4072.

The family of the girl joined Wayne Dolcefino, President of Dolcefino Consulting, at a news conference on Monday at 2 p.m. to ask for the public’s help in finding the suspect.
