Houston activists call for an end to finger-pointing in suspended HPD cases

The Greater Houston Coalition for Justice says the “major focus should be the victim.”

HOUSTON – As the investigation into how thousands of cases by the Houston Police Department were suspended, activists say the finger-pointing needs to stop.

Members of the Greater Houston Coalition for Justice held a news conference Monday morning, calling for an “end on the political grandstanding and blame game in the HPD Suspended cases controversy.”

The Houston Coalition also urged the public to be patient as the investigation committees work to determine what exactly happened and reminded folks how the “major focus should be the victims.”

The press conference was held at 10 a.m. at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers - Local 716 Union Hall in the Heights.
