Houston man charged with 5th DWI after Splendora pursuit

SPLENDORA, Texas – Early Saturday morning, a Houston man was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated for the fifth time after a brief police chase.

Splendora officers attempted to stop Jose Guerrero, 42, on Highway 59, but he failed to yield, triggering a pursuit with police. The situation was deescalated quickly, leading to Guerrero’s detainment and arrest.

Guerrero was charged with evading arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving while intoxicated. Officials soon discovered that this was a recurring issue for Guerrero, who was being arrested for DWI for his fifth time.

His bond totals $30,000 for the three offenses.
