A dog discovered last Friday in a neighborhood on Cedar Creek Drive, was initially thought to be Max, who’d been missing along with his owner, Christina Johnson.

However, we now know her dog Max was with her the entire time she was missing. The dog resembling Max, was discovered during those violent storms last Friday about 7.7 miles away from where Christina and Max were last seen near her family’s home.

The lookalike Max has found a new home with Johnson’s father, Emmanuel, who has renamed him Jack.

Christina’s dad says he wants Jack to now be a part of their family.

Houston Pet Set will provide vaccinations and grooming services for the rescued dog and The Pet Barber will groom Christina’s dog Max.

Christina and Max disappeared after they went out for their routine walk on March 6. After being missing for nearly two weeks, Christina and Max were found near the University of Houston sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Christina’s father noted that the doppelgänger Max appeared matted and disoriented upon returning home, offering a possible explanation for his behavior.
