Cleveland Middle School teacher fired after video of him body slamming 7th grader surfaced

Video shows a teacher getting violent and slamming a student at Cleveland Middle School to the ground.

The video is taking parents in Cleveland by surprise.

“I wouldn’t be able to deal with that,” said a parent named James Foley.

While it is blurry, it appears to show a 7th grade teacher at the school grabbing a student by the collar, roughing him up, and even slamming him to the floor. An anonymous source tells us the teacher was upset because the student was being disruptive.

“I mean, the kid was a little tiny, and that was a big dude, so no—I would be kind of mad,” said another parent named Terry Thrasher.

Regarding the incident we’re told happened last Friday, the district posted this to its Facebook page:

“Cleveland ISD is aware of an incident regarding a staff member at Cleveland Middle School inappropriately handling a student. Following an investigation, the staff member in question has been removed from the campus and is no longer with CISD.”

Some parents don’t think the teacher should work at any school.

“I don’t think that teacher was meant for this job,” Foley said.
