Man killed in crash on Beaumont Highway after slamming into truck tractor

BEAUMONT – One person is dead following a major crash on Beaumont Highway, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a man was driving a sedan at a high rate of speed when he hit a truck tractor.
The driver of the sedan was transported to the hospital where he later died.
Drivers are being diverted to travel southbound on Beltway 8 while crews work to clean up the crash.
