Man, 16-year-old injured in shooting in east Houston

A man and a 16-year-old girl were injured in a shooting in east Houston on Saturday, according to the Houston Police Department. (KPRC)

HOUSTON – A man and a 16-year-old girl were injured in a shooting in east Houston on Saturday, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 4000 block of Galveston Road after 1 a.m. regarding a shooting.

Several people had been drinking at an apartment. A group of women then left the apartment, and they were going to be picked up by other men.

An argument broke out outside, and shots were fired.

A man about 24 years old was shot several times, and a 16-year-old girl was hit in her calf after a bullet ricocheted.

The man is in stable condition, and both are expected to be OK.

Several people were detained and interviewed by police. This shooting is still being investigated.
