Man charged with aggravated assault after attacking 2 family members with machete

HOUSTON – The man accused of using a machete to stab two family members has now been charged, according to the Houston Police Department.

Nicholas Ford, 20, has since been charged with aggravated assault of a family member.

On Wednesday, Feb 14., Houston police responded to reports of a stabbing at the Vista at Westchase Apartments located at 3435 Walnut Bend Lane around 9:45 a.m.

Officers said the man had stabbed two women and then barricaded himself inside the apartment.

After about an hour-long standoff, Ford surrendered to police. Cell phone video shows the moment officers wearing tactical gear and long rifles arrested the man.

The two women, who police say are 21 and 25, were transported to the hospital.

Ford was also transported to the hospital for a cut on his knee but has since been released.
