DEER PARK, Texas – The City of Deer Park has lifted its boil water notice, which was caused by a water main break on Valentine’s Day.

Officials said after conducting 20 special tests to determine if the water was safe, all results returned negative for coliform, indicating that the water was safe.

On Feb. 14, the city of Deer Park issued the boil water notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions that occurred recently in the public water system, the water had to be boiled before use for drinking or human consumption purposes.

The water main break caused the system pressure to drop below 20 psi, which led to the boil water notice.

Officials are asking residents to flush out their ice machines and other water line systems briefly before using them.
