Man shot, killed after attempting to rob another man who was sleeping in the back of his truck in north Harris Co.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is now dead after an attempted robbery led to a shooting in north Harris County early Tuesday morning.

The shooting took place in the 330 block of Parramatta Lane off the North Freeway around 3 a.m.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a man was sleeping in the back seat of his 4-door pickup truck when another man, possibly armed with pistols, entered the truck and attempted to rob him.

The man who was sleeping in the truck had an AR-15 rifle and shot the other man several times.

The wounded intruder was pronounced dead on the scene.

KPRC 2 crews are headed to the apartment complex to gather more information.
