HOUSTON – A man has been charged after a woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The crash was reported at 6:05 p.m. in the 7200 block of Lyons Avenue.

Police said the victim, identified as Georgia Salas, 65, was walking on the sidewalk when a silver Nissan Rogue leaving a private parking lot struck her.
Salas was taken to an area hospital by Paramedics where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, Nicolas Lopez Martinez, 50, fled the scene but was later charged with failure to render aid.
Martinez was booked into the Harris County Jail. Additional charges are possible, pending the outcome of the investigation.
