2 firefighters injured after 5-alarm fire breaks out at storage facility in Spring, damaging dozens of units

SPRING, Texas – Firefighters continued working to put out the flames at a storage facility in Spring after a 5-alarm fire broke out late Wednesday night.

The storage facility is a Cube Smart Self-Store along 700 Sawdust Road.

KPRC 2′s Brittany Jeffers is at the scene, which remained active Thursday morning.

She said that the South Montgomery County Assistant Fire Chief told her that they are offensively fighting this fire, which has caused damage to dozens of units inside the building.

Additionally, two firefighters were injured while on the scene but are expected to be OK.

Officials from the Woodlands Fire Department said that more than 22 fire engines, nine ladder trucks, and more than 100 firefighters were at the scene assisting.

The firefighters are working through each of the multiple storage units to try to extinguish the fire.

It is unclear what caused the fire.
