HOUSTON – A man was shot and killed in front of an elementary school in northwest Harris County Tuesday night.
The shooting took place near the Kujawa Elementary School on Fallbrook Drive and Willowwood Lane.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call around 11:30 p.m. from a driver who had reported seeing a man in the roadway.
Investigators told KPRC 2′s Brittany Jeffers that it appears the man was walking down the street when he was shot.
When deputies arrived, they say they found the victim, a man between 30 and 40 years old, partially in the road. The victim was said to have been unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Now, deputies are trying to identify the victim and figure out what led to the shooting.
Investigators say they will be at the scene when daylight comes, looking for surveillance video that may help with the investigation.
