Man hospitalized after being struck by METRORail train near Houston’s Hermann Park

HOUSTON – A man has been taken to the hospital after being struck by a METRORail train near Hermann Park.

METRO PD said it happened at 8:07 p.m. in the 6100 block of Fannin Street.

Police said a man was pushing a wheelchair along the tracks. They said there was no one in the wheelchair. A METRORail train was coming down the tracks at the time and couldn’t stop before hitting the man.

Authorities said the man was conscious and talking while on the way to the hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
