Family member of man gets into shootout with 3 masked suspects over robbery in NE Houston

One man was arrested, and authorities are still looking for two suspects wanted for robbing a man at gunpoint outside his house in northeast Houston on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department. (KPRC)

HOUSTON – One man was arrested, and authorities are still looking for two suspects wanted for robbing a man at gunpoint outside his house in northeast Houston on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the scene due to a robbery and shooting in the 2600 block of Caplin Street around 12:30 a.m.

A man had been getting out of his car to enter his home, then three men with masks on approached him and robbed him at gunpoint.

A family member was inside the house and saw what was happening. They then came out of the house and shot at the suspects, and they got into a shootout.

One of the suspects was shot. He ran away, and a K-9 unit later found him.

He was taken to the hospital and will be charged with aggravated robbery.

The other two suspects fled the scene in a white Ford SUV. No other information about them has been released.
