Boil water notice prompted by water main break discontinued for some Galveston Co. residents

BACLIFF, Texas – A boil water notice has been discontinued for residents living in an area of Galveston County. The notice stemmed from a pressure drop in the water system from a water main break.

According to Galveston County’s Office of Emergency Management, the boil water notice was put in place for the Bacliff area around 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. On Monday at around 12:30 p.m., the notice was rescinded.

Children, seniors, and other residents with weakened immune systems are said to particularly be vulnerable to any possible harmful bacteria in the water.

Residents are encouraged to bring their water to a vigorous rolling boil and then boil for two minutes. Let the water cool before consuming or using.
