Man dies after being struck by 2 vehicles while crossing East Freeway in east Harris County

A man died after he was struck by two vehicles while crossing the East Freeway in east Harris County on Saturday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. (KPRC)

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man died after he was struck by two vehicles while crossing the East Freeway in east Harris County on Saturday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened in the 16000 block of East Freeway after 10 p.m.

A man was attempting to get across the highway and was hit by two vehicles. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle stayed and spoke with deputies. It was determined the driver was not intoxicated and will not be charged.

The second driver left the scene, and officials are looking for them.

There were some pieces of a vehicle left on the highway, and investigators are using these to locate the second driver.

Deputies said they want to find the driver to provide closure to the family of the pedestrian.
