GALVESTON, Texas – Rain is continuing to pour down across many areas around Houston and we have the KPRC 2 Storm Tracker team out on the ground, checking out some places that were hit heavily.

Friday morning, Meteorologist Anthony Yanez reported that about 3″ to 4″ have fallen along coastal cities so far.

Daji spoke with residents and business owners in the area and even ran into one woman who said she had to abandon her car early Friday morning because the rain was so intense.

Workers at Koop’s BBQ & Kitchen on Avenue J said that rain and flood waters like what they saw on Friday is normal in their area.

“It happens a few times a year. It just comes with the territory being over here,” one man said. “They tried to redo all our streets (but) they’re just not finished with it yet.”

That employee said that they are hoping the storm continues to pass through so that they can open by noon.
