Chase of suspected stolen vehicle ends in arrest in north Harris County; nude woman found in backseat under blanket

HOUSTON – A police chase has come to an end in north Harris County Friday with a suspect in custody.

The chase started in the northeast side of Houston and moved more toward the northern side of town.

The suspect abandoned the vehicle and ran into a wooded area near Kuykendahl Road and Ella.

A few minutes later, officers could be seen escorting the suspect, in handcuffs, into a police unit.

Houston Police said the chase started as a pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle.

They received a call at 1:40 p.m. alerting them to the car theft.

The pursuit began around 2:10 p.m. when officers spotted the stolen vehicle.

Houston Police later told KPRC 2 after the suspect was taken into custody, the car that was reportedly stolen was towed into a nearby parking lot.

The doors to the car had locked, so police had the tow truck driver pop the lock so they could get in and process the vehicle.

When officers started looking in the vehicle, they found a blanket in the back seat. When they moved the blanket, they found a woman underneath that was not wearing any clothes.

Police said the woman was unharmed and is not facing any charges at this time, but police are still trying to determine why she was in the car.
