Man shot with crossbow following argument with stepbrother in east Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and another man was detained after authorities said an argument between stepbrothers led to one being shot with a crossbow.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the incident happened in the 20700 block of Live Oak in east Harris County at around 8:50 p.m.

According to deputies, two stepbrothers got into an argument over a car battery. Investigators said the disagreement escalated to a physical situation where one brother, identified as 45-year-old Tim Lee Ehrlich, grabbed a crossbow and shot his brother one time.

The brother who was shot, identified as 52-year-old Brandon Lane Little, was transported to the hospital via Life Flight in critical condition.

Ehrlich reportedly remained at the scene and was detained by deputies. He was charged with aggravated assault.

Little remains hospitalized and is in serious but stable condition.
