3 people injured after garbage truck overturns in Crosby

CROSBY, Texas – Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a garbage truck in Crosby Thursday, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

Deputies responded to reports of a major crash in the 4000 block of Holy Road.

According to Gonzalez, the driver of the truck was flown to the hospital via Life Flight in critical condition. The other two occupants were riding the outside of the truck and jumped off when it started to roll. Both were taken to trauma centers in an ambulance, HCSO said.

Harris County Fire Marshal Hazmat and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies remained at the scene to investigate.

Investigators have not said what caused the crash.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time.
