Suspect arrested, accused of shooting man in pickup truck in League City

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A 26-year-old man has been arrested, accused of shooting another man in a pickup truck Saturday morning.

League City Police said Irkan Notta is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond has been set at $100,000.

Police said at approximately 3:17 a.m. Saturday, they responded to the 2200 block of Beacon Circle after receiving several 911 calls saying shots had been fired.

Officers arrived at approximately 3:20 a.m. and found a 22-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was given medical treatment at the scene and then taken to a hospital. The victim was conscious and speaking with officers at the hospital.

Along with the victim, there were two witnesses who were with him. They were able to identify Notta as the shooter and gave a description to police. They said Notta fired 1-2 shots from a handgun into the victim’s pickup truck as they were attempting to leave the area, with one round striking the victim.

Notta was located on foot near the scene and was placed into custody without incident. He has cooperated with investigators during the investigation.
