Suspected drunken driver crashes into deputy’s vehicle, leads law enforcement on chase in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A suspected drunken driver crashed into a Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office vehicle on Tuesday in northwest Harris County, according to authorities.

A deputy was patrolling near the 12200 block of Huffmeister Road when a vehicle crashed into the patrol vehicle.

The driver then fled the scene, and a brief chase began. The vehicle eventually stopped.

Javier Garcia was driving the car and sobriety tests determined he was intoxicated, authorities said in a news release Wednesday.

Garcia was arrested and booked into the Harris Count Jail. He was charged with evading in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

He was given a $2,600 bond.
