Firefighter injured after large building fire near Galleria-area

HOUSTON – A firefighter was injured while battling a large building fire near the Galleria on Tuesday.

An auto body shop caught on fire on Fountain View Drive and Star Lane. The firefighter suffered a few minor burns but was not taken to the hospital.

Large black clouds of smoke could be seen coming from the area Tuesday morning.

The fire has been burning since at least 10:50 a.m. Several firetrucks were at the scene. The building suffered serious damage and became a black color.

The roof and other parts of the building appeared to be caved in. Fire officials are investigating what caused the fire.
