United Airlines to open new inflight training center; plans to bring 1,800 jobs to Houston

HOUSTON – United Airlines is set to open its newest inflight training center near Bush Intercontinental Airport on Tuesday.

The new facility -- United’s largest training center -- will be located at 4369 Wright Road in north Houston. It features 56,000 square feet of new classroom training spaces and an aquatic center.

According to a news release, the facility will train 16,000 flight attendants annually.

In the meantime, United plans to hire more than 4,000 flight attendants in 2023. The company also plans to bring 1,800 jobs in the greater Houston area.

Mayor Sylvester Turner, United CEO Scott Kirby, and President Brett Hart will attend the grand opening of the training facility, which will take place Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m.
