From words to gunfire: This is the man police say shot, killed man outside northwest Houston convenience store

HOUSTON – A man is now charged with murder in the shooting of another man at a convenience store in northwest Houston on Monday.

The shooting, prompted by a verbal fight, happened in the 10400 block of Shadow Oaks Drive about 10:45 a.m., Houston police said.

Jesus Alberto-Garcia, 20, is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court.

The victim has not yet been identified by authorities.

Police said the victim and Alberto-Garcia got into a verbal fight in front of a convenience store and Alberto-Garcia pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Houston Police Department patrol officers said they responded to the scene and arrested Alberto-Garcia without further incident.
