Suspect arrested after SWAT team says he barricaded himself, girlfriend inside apartment

HOUSTON – Authorities have arrested the suspect they say was responsible for a SWAT scene near Midtown. Officers believed a woman was being held inside of the apartment complex by that suspect.
According to information provided by the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance call in the 4500 block of Graustark around 11 a.m. Thursday.

Around 2 p.m., law enforcement officials said that HPD’s SWAT team and hostage negotiators were still working to get the suspect and the woman out of the residence.
At about 4 p.m., authorities said they arrested the suspect in this incident.
It is believed the suspect and the woman who was also inside were in a relationship.
HPD SWAT, hostage negotiators, and PIO are at a SWAT scene in the 4500 block of Graustark. The call began at 11 a.m. as a disturbance. It is believed one female is inside with the suspect.#HOUNEWS
